The Krups Fresh Aroma Coffee Maker 2003/01/30
by Brian

The Krups Fresh Aroma Coffee Maker does it all. It grinds the beans and has all the normal features of a coffee machine, but it needs a lot of tender loving care to keep it fully operational.

Although this machine is no longer carried by Krups, you can still pick it up on ebay or from a dealer on the Internet.

The machine comes in white as shown above or black and is relatively inexpensive for a machine of this type. The best feature of this machine is that it comes with a built in grinder. So if you don't already have a grinder, you don't have to buy one. This machine grinds the coffee as well.

The process is easy. You pour the water in the filler hole in the top and put in the recommended amount of beans in another hole in the top and of course a filter in the filter container and set the selector switch to the start position and press ON to start the process. The machine immediately grinds the beans to a nice medium/fine grind. Once the grinding is completed, the ground coffee drops into the filter basket and shortly thereafter, the water starts to drip into the filter basket. Note, because of the way the water is brought up from the back of the machine, it loses about 2 cups of water for every 10 cups. So if you want 8 cups, you have to fill the water holder to the 10 cup mark.

This machine can also be used with already ground coffee. You simply put the ground coffee into the filter basket and select the filter basket setting on the selector switch. As well, it has a timer feature for those who like to wake up to the smell of fresh coffee in the morning. The selector switch also lets you select dark or lighter coffee by letting the water stay in the filter basket longer.
